HR Triage Service
Something’s landed in your inbox. And you’re not quite sure what to do next.
An unexpected grievance. A serious allegation. A complicated employee complaint. A solicitor’s letter. Or perhaps you’re an HR professional looking for an independent second opinion on a difficult situation. Sometimes, the hardest part of dealing with an HR problem is knowing where to start. Kea HR Triage helps you understand what you’re dealing with, identify the risks and decide what to do next. With an independent assessment and clear, practical recommendations, you can move forward with greater confidence.
Independent HR assessments from £149.
What is HR Triage?
HR Triage is a standalone assessment service designed for businesses and HR professionals who need an experienced, independent perspective on a workplace issue.
Rather than immediately launching into an investigation, formal procedure or lengthy consultation, we first establish what the problem actually is, what needs attention and what action is appropriate.
We consider the information you provide, identify the key issues and potential risks, and recommend a practical way forward.
Think of it as getting the diagnosis before deciding on the treatment.
When might you need HR Triage?
You might benefit from an independent assessment if you’re dealing with:
- Grievances and employee complaints: particularly where several allegations have been raised or the issues are difficult to untangle.
- Disciplinary and conduct concerns: when you’re unsure how serious an incident is or what action would be reasonable.
- Sickness absence and capability issues: including conflicting medical information, workplace adjustments and difficult return-to-work situations.
- Bullying, harassment or discrimination allegations: where careful consideration of the circumstances and potential risks is essential.
- Employment disputes and legal correspondence: when an employee has challenged a decision, threatened proceedings or involved a solicitor.
- Complex HR decisions: where you want an independent assessment before taking action.
You don’t need to know which HR procedure applies before contacting us. That’s part of what we’re here to help establish.
Independent second opinions for HR professionals
Even experienced HR professionals encounter situations where an independent perspective is valuable.
You may be dealing with an unusually complex employee relations matter, considering several possible approaches or facing resistance from senior management to your recommendations.
Kea HR Triage provides an objective assessment of the circumstances, the potential risks and the options available.
We’ll consider your proposed approach, challenge assumptions where appropriate and provide clear recommendations that can help inform your discussions and decisions.
Our role isn’t simply to agree with you. It’s to provide an experienced, independent perspective.
How HR Triage works
1. Tell us about the issue
Complete our short enquiry form explaining the situation, the assistance you’re looking for and any relevant deadlines.
2. We establish what’s involved
We’ll consider the nature of your enquiry and may request further information or relevant documents to establish the scope of the assessment.
3. Receive your fixed-fee quotation
We’ll confirm what the assessment will cover, the cost and the anticipated turnaround time. You’ll know the fee before deciding whether to proceed.
4. We assess the situation
We’ll review the agreed information, identify the key issues and potential risks, and consider the appropriate next steps.
5. Receive your recommendations
You’ll receive a written assessment with practical recommendations, including any actions requiring particular attention.
Where additional support would be beneficial, we’ll explain how Kea HR could assist.
What will you receive?
Your assessment will be tailored to the circumstances of your case and may include:
- A summary of the key issues.
- Identification of potential employment law and procedural risks.
- Matters requiring further information or investigation.
- Recommended actions and priorities.
- Guidance on what to avoid before taking further action.
- Options for obtaining additional HR support where appropriate.
The level of detail will reflect the scope of the assessment agreed with you.
HR Triage is an initial assessment, not a full workplace investigation, comprehensive evidence review or substitute for specialist legal representation.
How quickly will I receive my assessment?
Straightforward HR Triage assessments may be completed within 24 working hours of receiving payment and all the agreed information. More complex matters may take longer, and we’ll confirm the anticipated turnaround time in your quotation.
More complex matters, particularly those involving substantial documentation or several interconnected issues, may take longer.
We’ll confirm the expected turnaround time when providing your quotation, so you’ll know when to expect your assessment before committing.
Where your enquiry involves an urgent deadline, please highlight this when contacting us.
How much does HR Triage cost?
Fees start from £149.
Every workplace situation is different. Some enquiries require a straightforward independent second opinion, while others involve multiple issues, extensive documentation or more complex circumstances.
We’ll consider the scope of your enquiry and provide a fixed-fee quotation based on the complexity of your enquiry, the information requiring review and the scope of the assessment.
Your quotation will confirm what is included, the total fee and the expected turnaround time before committing.
Payment is required in full before work begins. There are no ongoing commitments or obligations to purchase further HR support.
What happens after Triage?
You may decide to follow our recommendations yourself, using the assessment to guide your next steps.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer professional assistance with implementing the recommendations, Kea HR can provide further support through our On-Demand HR Support service or a separately agreed HR project.
This might include preparing correspondence, supporting an investigation, managing a disciplinary or grievance process, or independently chairing a hearing.
Any additional work will be discussed and agreed separately.
