My HR Services are designed for micro and small businesses and provide the advice and support that you need, when you need it. When you work with me you will take advantage of over 30 years of experience in supporting Directors and Line Managers with the full range of HR issues! You can work with me on a retained or Pay As You Go basis. Whichever way you choose to work with me my aim will be to take away the stress associated with managing your people and give you the peace of mind that your business is protected.

As an owner of a micro or small business you are probably juggling all, or most of, the balls in your business and don’t have the time or expertise to establish effective HR processes yourself. Without dedicated HR support day to day HR issues such as sickness, holidays, family friendly leave and training can be daunting.

Remaining compliant with UK Employment Legislation can be a real headache because it’s constantly changing. Some of these changes occur annually and are easy to prepare for, such as national minimum wage increases. But the Government introduce changes to employment law throughout the year, not all those changes hit the news headlines and can be easily missed. On top of that there are tribunal rulings that can affect how we interpret legislation.

I offer a range of services that are aimed at helping you manage your people. You can opt to work with me on a long-term basis through a retainer, on a short-term basis when you have a HR Project to complete or on as a Pay As You Go Arrangement.

Wage bills, inflation and the cost of fuel and energy are causing many companies to look at saving money where they can. Outsourcing some or all of your HR function to me can be a cost-effective way of reducing your overheads whilst still benefiting from expert HR Advice and Support.

HR is a huge subject that covers many aspects from recruitment to dismissal and everything in between the lifespan of an employee. All of those aspects of HR will crop up regularly in a large multi sited businesses. But in micro and small businesses they will be much more infrequent and legislation can change regularly, meaning the process you followed when an employee was pregnant ten years ago might look very different when an employee tells you today that they are pregnant. That means you’ve got to stop what you’re doing and spend time researching current maternity leave entitlements and working out what you and your employee need to do and when you need to do it.

I found many owners of micro and small businesses were reacting to situations as they developed, as they didn’t have the time or the knowledge to create robust policies and learn how to use them for HR matters that they thought they would probably never have to deal with. I hate to see people struggling so, I created my Ready To Go HR Department to help owners of micro and small businesses through the HR minefield. The service provides peace of mind by providing step-by-step guidance through the essential HR functions and those unexpected HR matters that crop up occasionally in a micro and small business. As your business grows you will be spending more and more time sorting employees’ problems and are probably finding some of those problems are a bit tough. You will be all too aware how frequently HR matters can crop up and how quickly a simple matter can develop into a major headache. Kea HR can become your HR Manager and handle all those HR problems on your behalf or support you through the process.

Working as your HR Manager I can help you to make your business more successful by adopting full ownership of your HR responsibilities and deal with everything including:- new starters, induction and probation, performance management issues, absence issues, parental leave, resignations and retirements.

I offer unlimited remote advice as standard so when something unexpected or complex is happening in your business you can contact me and I will guide you through the fog so you make a decision that is right for your business. I won’t just give you advice and let you get on with it. When I act as your HR Manager, I will prepare all the required letters you will need to navigate the process and will also be available to attend any meetings with you or manage them on your behalf

In addition to providing unlimited remote advice I will:

  • Review and update your existing Employee Handbook or create a new one if you don’t have one or you want to forget the old one and start again.
  • Review and update your contracts of employment.
  • Prepare job descriptions for new roles or existing roles as required.
  • Process all paperwork relating to new starters and leavers, including ensuring contracts are issued on or before day one of employment.
  • Manage probation periods and initial periods of employment; ensuring compliance with the new regime when introduced in 2026.
  • Produce all employment related letters; maternity leave, sickness, pay rises, changes to terms and conditions of employment and flexible working.
